Drag Boat Racing

Drag boat racing is a motor boat sport , a type of drag racing on water. As with conventional drag racing on land, here too a certain distance (the classic 1/4 mile , currently usually only a thousand feet, approx. 300 m) is driven, but with a flying start. The highlight of the season each year is the IHBA World Finals in Phoenix (Arizona) , where the best drivers of the various classes compete.

In the USA , a new motorsport division developed with Drag Boat Racing . Similar to the motorboat GPs, value is also placed on a colorfully mixed supporting program at drag boat events so that as many spectators as possible come. Some organizers even include a motorboat stunt show in their event schedule. Outside the US, however, drag boat racing is largely unknown. There are also some smaller events in Europe. Most of these are the same races organized by the same organizers as in the USA, who then issue these races as a European Tour .
