Dragomir Mateew

Dragomir Mateew ( Bulgarian драгомир Матеев ; born May 12, 1902 in Kawarna , † December 28, 1971 in Sofia ) was a Bulgarian doctor and physiologist .

Life

Mateew joined the Bulgarian Communist Party in 1919 and studied medicine in Sofia. From 1944 he was a professor at the University of Physical Culture and Sport Georgi Dimitrov in Sofia. In 1963 he became head of the Center for Gerontology and Geriatrics and in 1967 he was finally director of the Institute of Physiology of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences .

In his scientific work he dealt with blood circulation, problems of aging and questions of the physiology of sport.
