Dragon (rocket)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Dragon is a two-stage French solid rocket for height research. A Stromboli engine (diameter 56 cm) was used as the first stage , which burned 675 kg of fuel in 16 seconds and thus generated a maximum thrust of 88  kN . The Belier was used as an upper level.

It belonged to a family of solid rocket missiles , which consisted of the Belier , the Centaure , the Dragon, the Dauphin and the Eridan . The Dragon was used in different versions between 1962 and 1973.

The payload of 30 to 120 kg could be brought to parabolic flights between 390 and 700 km altitude.
