Jörg Juretzka
Jörg Juretzka (* 1955 in Mülheim an der Ruhr ) is a German writer .
Juretzka is a trained carpenter and built a. a. Log cabins in Canada and only began writing in 1990. Today, in addition to his writing, he works on the construction site or installs car washes.
The main character of his previously published novels is the idiosyncratic private detective Kristof Kryszinski , whose cases initially only took place in Juretzka's homeland, the Ruhr area . To provide variety, however, the author also let his protagonist work in the Swiss Alps , in Spain , on a cruise ship and in the Wild West . The humorous dialogues and the laconically precise style of Juretzka, which many critics praised and which often led to comparisons with Kinky Friedman , were preserved.
Since 2003 Juretzka also works as a screenwriter, u. a. for ProSieben - series What does not fit is made to fit , inspired by the eponymous film by Peter Thorwarth .
Jörg Juretzka lives in Mülheim an der Ruhr.
