history

The Interlaken – Heimwehfluh cable car opened on July 21, 1906 and was already operated electrically at that time. It is a single-track system without a brake rack , with an avoidance station in the middle in the form of an Abt switch and 2 cars. A trip takes about three minutes. The railway is operated as a nostalgic cable car, both engine compartment and rolling stock are largely in their original condition.

At the mountain station there is a restaurant, the Heimwehfluhturm , a 0-gauge model railway system as well as a toboggan run and a monorail toboggan run down to Interlaken.

From May to June 2012 the open-air theater Oh Schreck was performed on the Heimwehfluh . It was written by the German actor Michael Goessler, the Swiss theater actress Deborah Lanz directed and directed it.
