Dramaworld is a drama series from the streaming platform Viki from 2016. The episodes are relatively short at 9 to 19 minutes. The film was shot in Seoul ( South Korea ) and Los Angeles ( USA ). It is the first web series specially produced by Viki.

A second season is in production.

action

Claire Duncan works in her father's diner . But she is often absent because she is engaged in South Korean television dramas and also watches them during work hours. But her father wants her to focus on real life and that she wouldn't meet a Korean billionaire here. One day Claire falls at the end of her shift and is drawn into Dramaworld .

Dramaworld is where all Korean television series come from. The characters there don't know that they are television characters. And as soon as a drama ends, your memory is reset and a new drama begins. Claire lands straight in her favorite drama Taste of Love . Totally baffled to meet her favorite actor, Joon Park, she passes out. The supporting actor, Seth Ko, stands by her side and says she is his adoptive sister. He takes Claire home. Like Claire, he's not from Drama World. He is a so-called facilitator who has the task of ensuring that every television series develops in the right direction. Seth explains the rules of Dramaworld to Claire and concludes that Claire must also be a facilitator who has been appointed by Dramaworld.

The goal is that Joon Park falls in love with the leading actress Seo-yeon, and not with the scheming Ga-in. But Claire fails and makes things worse. She tries to provoke a fire in Joon Park's restaurant and lure Seo-yeon there so that Park can save her. Instead, an archer tries to kill Claire in front of the restaurant. Park saves her while Seth rescues Seo-yeon.

Over time, it dawns on Claire that Seth is behind everything and is in love with Seo-yeon. Should Seo-yeon fall in love with Seth and a kiss of true love ensues, the drama ends and a new series with Seth in the lead role would begin. But if this does not happen, the Dramaworld ends and there would be no more Korean dramas.

Claire tells Joon Park the whole truth. Seth has meanwhile tied up and kissed Seo-yeon, but nothing happens because she doesn't love him. Claire and Joon manage to stop Seth. In the end, Joon doesn't kiss Seo-yeon, but Claire. The drama ends and Claire is released back into the real world. She continues to watch Korean dramas but is also more focused on work. At the end, Claire watches the new drama with Joon Park. He is running down a street in it. The next moment he storms into Claire's diner.
