The Drandorfhof is a former manor and the ancestral home of the von Drandorf family. It is located in Schlieben in the Elbe-Elster district in Brandenburg on Ritterstrasse.

The pre-reformer Johann von Drandorf, who was born in Schlieben in 1390 and was executed at the stake in Heidelberg in 1425, is one of the most important representatives of the von Drandorf family . The same fate befell the Junker von Drandorf in 1661 because of a double marriage.

The manor house, which still exists in its present form, along with stables and granary was built in the 18th and 19th Century built. The ensemble is known as a four - sided courtyard .

Drandorfhof local history museum

The local history museum located in the premises now houses a pharmacy, a viticulture museum, a bakery and a costume exhibition. In addition, a farmhouse apartment was set up here based on a historical model, which illustrates life about 100 years ago. Over 6300 historical agricultural implements can be seen in the warehouse.

Culture and regular events

In the Drandorfhof, the so-called sheepfold has been redesigned into a large event room. Cultural events take place here regularly. The local tourist information office is also located in the Drandorfhof.
