Three boys tin mine

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The three boys Zinnzeche was a mine on the Czech side of the western Erzgebirge in Hohenstollen ( Vysoká Štola , Nejdek).

Hohenstollen is named after the high mouth holes of the tunnels , at an altitude of 840 to 850 m above sea level, at houses No. 13 and 32. After 1945 parts of the place were abandoned and desolate.

history

Hans Rapolt was a supporter of this colliery before 1556, as can be seen from the oldest surviving mining in Hohenstollen. The Drei Junge Zinnzeche built a corridor to the north (" around midnight ") in what will later be the Schlosserseifen not far from the chapel. The tunnel mouth hole was located at the former Hohenstollen house No. 9. The tunnel led about 400 m into the mountain.

Before the First World War , attempts were made to revive tin mining for some time . However, it was not productive enough.
