Dreizehnlinden denotes a place at the northern end of the oak avenue on the banks of the Weser in front of the Corvey monastery in Höxter . There is a stone cross framed by four linden trees. This was built in 1750 by Kaspar II von Böselager-Honeburg (1687–1758) during his tenure as Abbot of Corvey (1737–1758) by the sculptor Johannes Pollmann from Marsberg. According to the epic epic by Friedrich Wilhelm Weber from Bad Driburg , a murder is said to have occurred at this point.

reception

Today the stone cross is reminiscent of the epic Dreizehnlinden by Friedrich Wilhelm Weber. Weber describes in the context of his homeland, the Nethegau , the founding of a monastery called Dreizehnlinden , alluding to Corvey.

The stone cross framed by four linden trees has been the subject of numerous painters .

Thirteen Linden House

The former inn, hotel, casino and wine trading house Dreizehnlindenhaus is also located in Corvey .
