Dreyfus Tower

The Dreyfus tower is on a rock on the coast of Kourou in French Guiana befindlicher radio tower .

The tower, named after Alfred Dreyfus , the most famous resident of the penal colony in French Guiana , opened in 1856 and was mainly used for agricultural purposes .

With a view of the sea, it served as an optical telegraph for communication with the Îles du Salut . The other buildings at that time were destroyed during the construction of the Hotel Les Roches Resort .
