Drug commissioner

The main task of a drug commissioner is to educate the population about the dangers of abuse and addiction , especially of drugs . In addition, drug officers give drug counseling and collect statistics on drug use in the various federal states . At federal and state level they are employed by the state, in larger cities they can be employed by private companies.

Since 1992 the office of the Drug Commissioner of the Federal Government with responsibility to the Federal Ministry of Health of Germany. The incumbent has been Daniela Ludwig (CSU) since the 2019 European elections .
