Drogo (Osnabrück)

Drogo († May 10, 967 ) was Bishop of Osnabrück from 949 to 967 .

Life

Little is known about his life before his bishopric. Drogo was tight with Otto I connected. He accompanied him on various trains. For his support, Otto I granted him coin, customs and market rights in Wiedenbrück in 952 . In 953 he was present at a meeting of bishops and greats in Aachen . Drogo was present at Otto's coronation as emperor in Rome in 962. In 965 the emperor gave him large forests in the area of ​​what would later become the bishopric of Osnabrück . In the same year he took part in the Cologne Synod.
