The Drygalski Basin is a lake basin in the Ross Sea off the Scott coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land .

Its name based on the name of the nearby Drygalski ice tongue , whose namesake is the German polar explorer Erich von Drygalski (1865-1949), took place in April 1980 by the Advisory Committee for Undersea Features (ACUF). After the name was changed to Von Drygalski Basin in 1995 , the property has had its original name since June 2003.
