from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dschekermisch († 1106 ) was the governor (with the title Atabeg ) of Mosul from 1102 .

After he went to the field against Sökmen I , he joined forces with him in the face of common danger. In May 1104 they waged a preventive war against the county of Edessa with the Battle of Harran . Their alliance did not last long after their victory at Harran . Dscheker-like attacked Sokmen and kidnapped the prisoner Balduin II. After Sokmen had withdrawn, he moved again against Edessa. However, a failure led by the Tiberias Tankred surprised them. Dschekermisch fled head over heels and left behind all the treasures of his camp.

When the Seljuk Sultan Berk-Yaruq had to share his rule with his brother Muhammad I. Tapar in 1104, Jerker tried to make himself independent.
