The Du Cane Range is a mountain range in the center of the Australian state of Tasmania and part of the Great Dividing Range . The mountain range lies on the eastern edge of the Cradle Mountain Lake St. Clair National Park on the border with the Walls of Jerusalem National Park .
The highest point, Mount Massif , is the seventh highest point of Tasmania with a height of 1514 m . It is very popular with hikers and mountaineers.
The Du Cane Range was named after Sir Charles Du Cane , who was Governor of Tasmania from 1874–1878.
