Duanaire Finn

Duanaire Finn [ 'duanirʴe fʴiNʴ ] ("Finn's songbook") is the name of a collection of 69 poems and ballads ( lays ) from the Finn cycle , which are set around the person of Fionn mac Cumhaill . These works were created in the period from the 12th to the beginning of the 17th century and were summarized in a manuscript in 1627. The author is the poet and warrior Aodh Ó Dochartaigh, the manuscript is now in the Irish College of Leuven in Belgium .

The lays are about the adventures of Fianna , Fionn's warrior troops, hunting experiences and campaigns. The form of the narrative is the report of individual members of the Fianna to later listeners.
