Dubai World Cup Night
The Dubai World Cup Night is a racing day with eight horse races that is held annually at the Meydan Racecourse in Dubai , United Arab Emirates .
There are races for English thoroughbred and Arabian thoroughbred . The event takes place every year at the end of March / beginning of April. Eight races will be run on this race day, with prize money totaling US $ 27.25 million. This is the highest endowed single race day worldwide.
The Meydan Racecourse has a 2400 m long grass track and a 1750 m long all-weather track. Both lanes run counter-clockwise. From 1996 to 2009 the event was held at Nad Al Sheba Racecourse.
