The Dublin Football Club was a football club from the Uruguayan capital Montevideo . The club's colors were red and white.

Between 1908 and 1923 - with the exception of the years 1913 to 1915 - the Dublin spent a total of 13 seasons in the first division. The greatest success here was the fourth place that Dublin was able to achieve in 1908, 1911 and 1918. After Dublin escaped relegation as 12th and last in 1922 only because Peñarol and Central were excluded during the current championship, another last place in the following year meant the end. After relegation in 1923, the club dissolved before the beginning of the following season.

In 1910, José Brachi , later a Nacional player , and Frederico Crocker traveled with the Uruguayan national team to the Campeonato Sudamericano held there on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Argentine declaration of independence , the first tournament on the continent with more than two national teams as participants and historical forerunner of the Copa America . Sadí Couture was part of the contingent for the 1917 South American Championship held in Montevideo, but was not used.

In January 1917, Dublin FC toured Brazil and played against the Brazilian national football team , among other things, and was able to wrest a 0-0 from the hosts in Rio de Janeiro on the pitch of Botafogo FC . A year later, Dublin even managed a 1-0 victory over Brazil in the same place, played here with the stars Neco and Arthur Friedenreich , who shared top scorer honors when they won the South American Championship in 1919 . Maran is passed down as Dublin's goalscorer for this game.
