Duchess of Portsmouth was a British nobility title in the Peerage of England , named after the city of Portsmouth in Hampshire .

The title was created on August 19, 1673 by King Charles II for his mistress Louise de Kérouaille . Together with the duke she was awarded the subordinate titles Countess of Fareham and Baroness Petersfield , which were named after the places Fareham and Petersfield in Hampshire. The titles were awarded for life and expired when the Duchess died on November 14, 1734.

At the mediation of Charles II she was also awarded the French title of Duchesse d ' Aubigny by King Louis XIV in 1684 .
