Earl of Portsmouth
Earl of Portsmouth is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of Great Britain .
The Earls' family seat is Farleigh House in Farleigh Wallop, Hampshire .
Award and subordinate titles
The title was created on April 11, 1743 for former House of Commons John Wallop, 1st Viscount Lymington .
As early as June 11, 1720 he had been raised to Viscount Lymington , in the County of Southampton , and Baron Wallop , of Wallop in the County of Southampton.
The current title holder is Quentin Wallop as 10th Earl.
