Duddingston Loch is a freshwater lake in the Scottish Lowlands. It is located in the city of Edinburgh immediately south of Arthur's Seat . The lake is about 400 m long and 200 m wide. With a maximum depth of three meters, it is much shallower than most other Scottish lakes.

Duddingston Loch has been a bird sanctuary since 1925 , where especially wild ducks can be seen. 1778 one was in the lake hoard with several weapons from the Bronze Age made that in today National Museum of Scotland are on display. Before Duddington Loch was declared a bird sanctuary, the frozen lake was a popular area for ice skaters and curling players for centuries . The lake is also featured in several historical paintings, the most famous of which is The Reverend Robert Walker skating on Duddingston Loch by Sir Henry Raeburn .
