David "Dudu" Aouate ( Hebrew דודו אוואט); (Born October 17, 1977 in Nazareth Illit ) is a former Israeli soccer player . His position is goalkeeper . In addition to Israeli citizenship, he also has French citizenship .

Player career

His professional career began at Hapoel Nazareth Illit , but he moved to Maccabi Haifa early on , where he quickly rose to become a key player. Until he switched to Racing Santander in 2003 , he was always in competition with the more experienced Nir Davidovich .

His good performances, especially in the Champions League - 2002/03 season , helped him to a transfer abroad. He moved to Racing Santander on July 17, 2003, where he was the undisputed number 1. Since he also has a French passport , he is not considered a so-called “non-EU foreigner” in the leagues of the European Union. In August 2006, Aouate moved to the Spanish club Deportivo La Coruña . On January 8, 2008, however, there was a fight with substitute Gustavo Munua during training, so that Aouate and Munua were excluded from the game at Deportivo until further notice.

On December 30th, 2008 Aouate signed a 4½-year contract with the Spanish first division club RCD Mallorca .
