Dudum siquidem (Leo X.)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dudum siquidem is a papal bull from Pope Leo X , with which he re-regulated the rules of the order for male and female tertiary living in community on January 20, 1521 .

The origin of this bull can be traced back to the rules of the order, their additions and amendments from 1317, 1428, 1456 and 1483; this bull was intended to prevent suspicion of heretical opinion. With this bull, which comprised a total of 10 chapters, Leo X gave the Terziars a new rule of the order that was adapted and updated to reflect the circumstances of the time. The focus was on the first three vows according to the " Evangelical Councils " and did not find general approval in the Catholic Church .
