The Duisburg trams GmbH was a German transport - company in Duisburg .

Duisburger Straßenbahnen GmbH was founded in 1923 on the basis of a concession agreement from 1899 by the city of Duisburg (51%) and the Allgemeine Lokal- und Straßenbahngesellschaft (49%). In 1929 and 1930, it expanded the route network taken over by the Allgemeine Lokal- und Straßenbahngesellschaft to a route length of around 10 kilometers. But a little later, numerous tracks were removed again in Duisburg city center. On April 1, 1938, the Düsseldorf-Duisburger Kleinbahn GmbH was taken over , before the company merged with the Hamborn company on January 1, 1940 to form the Duisburger Verkehrsgesellschaft AG .
