Dún Fearbhaí
Dún Fearbhaí [ duːn ˈfʲaɾvˠiː ] ( English Doonfarbagh ) is a stone fort in the townland of Ceathrú an Lisín ( English Carrownlisheen ), west of the port An Córa ( Cora Point ) on the Aran island of Inis Meáin in County Galway in Ireland .
The roughly rectangular ring fort with strongly rounded corners, surrounded by a simple wall, is located near the highest point of the island and is a national monument. It measures approximately 27.5 x 23.5 m. The dry stone wall has a step inside that leads to several stairs. The access is in the east.
The exact date of construction is unknown, but the Dún probably dates from the Iron Age . It has also been dated to the 5th century. It is one of seven stone forts in the Aran Islands.
