Dun Maraig is a small tidal island with an approximately elliptical layout in the bay of Poll na h-Ealaidh on the west coast of the Trotternish peninsula in the north of the Isle of Skye in Scotland , or the east coast of Loch Snizort . It is around 40.0 meters long and a good 20.0 meters wide at the narrowest point. The area is only around 800 square meters (0.08  hectares ).

The small village of Cuidrach overlooks Dun Maraig, on which the ruins of the eponymous old Duns (fort) lie. In the past, the island was connected to the mainland by a dam. Today it is only possible to walk to the island when the tide is extremely low . Uig is a little to the north . There are dinosaur tracks on a beach . Ferries run from Uig to the Hebrides .

The small island was won as the main prize in a German TV show in 1994.
