Dunamuck
Dunamuck (also called Dunamuck North and South) are two groups of menhirs , west of the River Add and west of the hamlet of Bridgend, near Lochgilphead in Argyll and Bute in Scotland .
Dunamuck North
Dunamuck North consists of a row of three stones, two of which have fallen over. It is located about 750 m north-northeast of the hamlet of Dunamuck ( location ). The two end stones were once 4.4 m apart, with their longitudinal axes oriented roughly northwest-southeast. The standing northern stone has a height of 2.63 m, a width of 1.35 m and is 0.35 m thick. The fallen stones measure about 3.75 × 0.8 × 0.3 m or 3.0 × m and 1.6 × 0.35 m at the base.
Dunamuck South
Dunamuck South is a pair of stones about 550 m northeast of the hamlet of Dunamuck ( location ). The stones are 0.35 and 0.45 m thick. The northern one is 2.75 meters high and 1.0 m wide; the southern one is about 4.0 meters high and pointed, and 1.5 meters wide at the base. It has a bowl 6.0 cm in diameter and 2.0 cm deep, 0.9 meters from the base. The southeast stone has a single cup mark about two feet from the ground. The two stones seem to be aligned with the hill on which the Hillfort Dunadd was later built.
