Duo neng bi shi

The Chinese book Duo neng bi shi ( Chinese多 能 鄙 事, routine work made easy ) by Liu Ji刘 基 (1311–1375), an official from the early Ming Dynasty , is a compendium on drinks and food, clothing and recipes , Agriculture and horticulture and animal husbandry.

The work often uses material from earlier works such as B. the Jujia biyong shilei quanji (居家 必 用事 类 全集, complete collection of important household skills ) of the Mongol period.

The entire work comprises twelve chapters ( juan ). Chapters 1 to 4 are devoted to food and drink (yinshi 饮食). This z. B. Fermentation (of alcoholic beverages, vinegar, black beans or jiang sauce), food production and cooking recipes are covered.

An early print is from the 19th year of the Jiajing era (1540) of the Ming Dynasty, a modern edition was published in 2002 by Shanghai guji chubanshe publishing house in Shanghai.
