The Dustri-Verlag Dr. Karl Feistle GmbH & Co. KG is a German specialist magazine publisher for doctors.

history

Dustri-Verlag was founded in September 1947 by Karl Müller, printer owner in Remscheid . He published the Medical Literature Anzeiger, or MLA for short, which at the time was the only medium to provide monthly information on new publications in the medical field. The MLA was distributed to bookstores who passed it on to their medical readership for customer loyalty. Karl Müller also published books such as Killian, Facies dolorosa or Schleicher, Laughing Medicine.

In the mid-1960s, the publishing house passed to Karl Feistle and the headquarters were relocated to Oberhaching near Munich . He built on the MLA and the authorship of the publisher Karl Müller and began with a new edition of Kilian, Facies dolorosa and the new Kilian, Der Kälteunfall. The publisher Karl Feistle's first office was in his home. 1971 moved into own office space for the first time. These too became too narrow, more office space and a separate warehouse were required, and in 1983 new rooms with their own warehouse were moved into. The publishing house has been located in its own office building in the Oberhaching industrial park since 2000.

In 1971 the first German-language magazine Kidney and Hypertension Diseases was founded. In 1973 the first English-language journal Clinical Nephrology was founded, at that time one of the few worldwide for nephrologists. Today the magazine has readers in 70 countries. Another German-language journal was founded in 1975 with Respiratory and Lung Diseases , followed by intensive and emergency treatment, allergology, digestive diseases and prevention and rehabilitation, neuropsychiatry, and current clinical pharmacology. The English-language range of journals now includes Clinical Nephrology , Clinical Neuropathology , the International Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics and Trace Elements and Electrolytes .

The yellow paperback books were created in the 1970s. Today mainly hardcover books are produced, and the manuals series with reference works on topics such as allergies, lungs and kidneys.

Dustri-Verlag has had its own typesetting studio since 1990.

Frank and Jörg Feistle have been the owners of the publishing house since 1999.
