Suad Šehović ( Serbian - Cyrillic Суад Шеховић ; born February 19, 1987 in Bijelo Polje , SR Montenegro ) is a Montenegrin basketball player . At a young age, Šehović won the national championship and the cup twice with the Bosnian club KK Bosna from the capital Sarajevo . The national player then moved to the Slovenian club KK Union Olimpija Ljubljana in 2010 , with whom he was also able to celebrate a national cup success. With the BK Budiwelnyk Kiev he could not defend their Ukrainian championship title in the 2011/12 season . After a season with Chimik Juschne, Šehović has been playing for the Montenegrin champions and cup winners KK Budućnost Podgorica since the 2013/14 season. His brother Sead Šehović , who is two years younger than him, is also a Montenegrin national basketball player and is somewhat better known in German-speaking countries because of his work for clubs in the national basketball league .

Career

Šehović started his professional career at the age of 18 with the Bosnian champion KK Bosna from Sarajevo , with whom he was able to defend the championship title in the 2005/06 season. After the final defeat against HKK Široki Brijeg a year later, they got the title back in the 2007/08 season. After it was no longer enough to win the championship, they won the national cup in 2009 and defended it in 2010. Subsequently, Šehović moved to Slovenia to master KK Union Olimpija in the capital Ljubljana . Union Olimpija lost the championship finals of the 2010/11 season again against defending champions KK Krka Novo mesto, but won the Slovenian cup competition. In the 2011/12 season Šehović then played in the Basketball Superliga Ukraine for the Ukrainian champions BK Budiwelnyk from the capital Kiev , who, however, could not defend his title. With the league competitor BK Chimik from Juschne he could not celebrate any particular successes in the following season 2012/13. After making his debut in the men's national team in 2010, he took part with the team in the 2013 European Championship finals in Slovenia, where the Montenegrin team was eliminated in the preliminary round after two preliminary round victories in five wins. Then he moved back to his Montenegrin homeland to the dominating club KK Budućnost from the capital Podgorica , where his brother had already played successfully. However, KK Budućnost had lost a national title to another club for the first time in the preseason in the young history of statehood after losing the cup final.
