Duvalia parviflora is a species of the subfamily of the silk plants (Asclepiadoideae).

features

The stem succulent shoots are spherical, oval to short finger-shaped, round to slightly elliptical in cross-section, green to gray-green in color and measure 1 to 2.5 cm in height and 1 to 1.5 cm in thickness. The leaflets are inconspicuous (<1 mm).

The inflorescence has a 3 to 8 cm stalk. There are 2 to 6 flowers on the stem. These have a diameter of 1 to 1.5 cm, are cream-colored, light yellow to yellowish green-brown and odorless. The sepals are 2 to 3 mm long. The petal tips measure 3.5 to 6 mm in length and 1.2 to 2 mm in width, the tips often have a tinge of light brown. They are furrowed lengthways with folded edges. The lamina (upper side) is bare and convex. The annulus is round to pentagonal and relatively narrow. It measures 3.5 to 4 mm in diameter and is 1 to 2 mm high. The secondary crown is ivory to straw yellow, the disc has a diameter of 3.5 to 4 mm and is about 1 mm high. It is more or less distinctly pentagonal and is higher than the annulus. The interstaminal coronary lobes are blunt and approximately rounded, square or rectangular (1 to 1.4 mm long, 1 to 1.5 mm wide).

The follicles are 8 to 12 cm long, the seeds measure 3.5 × 2.5 mm.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 22.
