Duvinage
The Duvinage , also du Vinage , Duvenage , are a family of Huguenot origin from France.
In France , the family owned a fief for the taxation of wine ("vinage"), which later gave them the low-nobility name "du".
With the increasing persecution of the Huguenots in France under Louis XIV , the family members fled to various countries, including what was then Brandenburg-Prussia . Well-known descendants include Charles Duvinage , the librarian of the Prussian kings and German emperors, and other namesake. You can find them mainly in the former Prussia, Hesse and South Africa .
