Dwain Bell

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dwain Bell (* Central City , Kentucky ) is an American rockabilly musician.

Dwain Bell was born in Central City but lived in Evanston , Indiana during his music career . In 1959, Bell recorded his first (and arguably only) record for Summit Records in Central City, Rock and Roll on a Saturday Night / I'm Gonna Ride . He was accompanied on these two recordings by Kenneth and Wayne Turner ( electric guitar and double bass ). Billboard wrote on the A-side in April 1959: “ It's Saturday night, and the cat is all set to go to town and rock and roll. Bell reads the countryish theme with know how. It could score if pushed. “The B-side received a similarly positive review:“ Honky-tonker is also well-handled by Bell. Fine country backing assists. This can also move. “For 1959, Bell's record was astonishingly simple rockabilly with a sparse line-up, because by that time most musicians had switched to mainstream rock'n'roll.

What happened to Bell afterwards is not known. His two songs were first re-released in 1978 by White Label Records on the Kentucky Rockabilly LP .
