Dwang (people)
The Dwang are a people in Ghana , also called Nchumunu or Dwan .
Historically, the Dwang are also known as Bassa . Their settlement area lies west of the Volta reservoir and south of the settlement area of the Chumburung east of Atebubu. The Akan settlement area lies south of the Dwang.
On the opposite headland (north) in the Volta reservoir is the settlement area of the Kratsche, with which traditional trade relations are maintained. Many Dwang understand the language Kratsche therefore good, but speak as a native language the Dwang .
