Dymock Poets

The Dymock Poets were a group of writers who lived in the small village of Dymock, Gloucestershire , England between 1911 and 1914 .

The group consisted of poets Robert Frost , Lascelles Abercrombie , Rupert Brooke , Edward Thomas , Wilfrid Wilson Gibson, and John Drinkwater . Eleanor Farjeon was on friendly terms with the group through Edward Thomas .

The group published their poems in their own magazine called New Numbers , in which Rupert Brooke's five war sonets appeared first. The group's poets became known to the general public through their inclusion in the collections of Georgian Poetry edited by Edward Marsh . After the death of Edward Thomas in World War I , the group disintegrated.
