Sling plate

Sliding surface behind the dynamic plate

The sling plate (also dynamic plate ) is a device built into the roadway of a driving safety center , which is used to make a multi-lane motor vehicle break away in a targeted manner with the rear end. There are currently around 10 driving safety centers in Germany that offer this technology.

With the help of a hydraulic cylinder , a rectangular plate is moved very quickly transversely to the vehicle when the vehicle is driven over, so that the vehicle skids due to the lateral jolt. The device is used, for. B. in a driver safety training to practice catching a skidding vehicle.

The lateral displacement of the rear axle is made by computer control depending on the driving speed and wheelbase of the vehicle. The usual speed range when driving over the dynamic plate is between 40 and 50 km / h, above or below the deflection is not initiated. The watered sliding surface behind the dynamic plate simulates a static friction of approx. Μ = 0.2 and thus winter driving conditions. The strength (usually between 40 and 100%) and choice of direction (right / left) of the lateral deflection can be programmed from a control panel.

Spin plates for cars and trucks are u. a. Manufactured by Testtec Prüfstandtechnik and Components Testing GmbH, Dorninger Hytronics GmbH and Technische Hydraulik, in Austria and GdS-Engineering, Germany.
