The Eğrekkaya Dam ( Turkish Eğrekkaya Barajı ) is located 3 km north of the city of Kızılcahamam , 70 km northwest of the Turkish capital Ankara in the province of the same name .

The Eğrekkaya Dam was built between 1985 and 1992 to supply drinking water to the Ankara metropolitan area on the Sey Çayı. The Sey Çayı flows 2 km below the dam into the Bulak Çayı , which later joins the Bayındır Çayı to form the Kirmir Çayı , a tributary of the Sarıyar dam through which the Sakarya flows .

The barrier structure is a sand-gravel embankment with a clay core . The dam height above the valley floor is 67 m and 100 m above the foundation base. The dam volume is 3.9 million m³. The reservoir covers an area of ​​3.95 km². The storage volume is 113 million m³. The Eğrekkaya Dam supplies 79 million m³ of drinking water per year.
