e-mergency is a web-based emergency management - application for businesses, schools and organizations, and otherwise a registered trademark in Switzerland . The rights to the application belong to e-mergency AG, which is responsible for the further development and marketing of the app.
Emergence
The emergency app was developed in 2015 on behalf of the Education Department of the Canton of Zurich in cooperation with the Canton Police , the Office for Violence Prevention of the City of Zurich and the software developers from the Zug company exanic AG and has been on the market since July 2015. Since April 2019, e-mergency AG has been an independent company and entered in the commercial register. The emergency app is used at 1,514 locations and used by 30,160 people (as of October 2019).
Field of activity
In the education sector, the application is known under the name “Emergency app for schools”. It is used in schools in fourteen cantons and is number one in the Swiss education sector. The emergency app is used as a centralized emergency management tool by various educational institutions at elementary, secondary, university and vocational level. In the corporate context, the app is used under the name "e-mergency" and is used by customers from the following sectors:

- Events sector
- Sports
The emergency app e-mergency supports a functioning and structured emergency preparedness concept and thus contributes to effective and efficient business continuity management (BCM) .
