The Esporte Clube Ferro Carril is a football club founded on March 1, 1916 from the city of Uruguaiana with around 110,000 inhabitants in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul on the border with Argentina.

Highlights of the club history of the railway sports club were the three participations in the highest division of the state championship of Rio Grande do Sul in 1929, 1954 and 1976. In the first two tournaments, the hinterland club could not score a point in a total of five games. When participating in 1976 Ferro Carril achieved some positive results, but was eliminated in the first main round. A tournament record that still exists is the 0:14 defeat on May 23, 1976 at the champions of the year, SC Internacional in Porto Alegre .

Most wanted player in club history by Ferro Carril is Chico , of the golden era of the top club in the 1940s and 1950s, one of the outstanding players CR Vasco da Gama was and at the 1950 FIFA World Cup with the national football team of Brazil this as Maracanaço received in history Playoff against Uruguay lost. The club plays its home games at the Estádio Joal de Lima e Silva, which has a capacity of around 3000 spectators.
