Nathaniel Hazard

Nathaniel Hazard (born 1776 in Newport , Rhode Island , † December 17, 1820 in Washington, DC ) was an American politician . Between 1819 and 1820 he represented the second constituency of the state of Rhode Island in the US House of Representatives .

Career

The exact date of birth of Nathaniel Hazard is unknown. Until 1792 he studied at Brown University in Providence . He became a member of the Democratic Republican Party founded by President Thomas Jefferson . In the years 1818 and 1819 Hazard was a member of the House of Representatives from Rhode Island and acted there temporarily as a speaker .

In the congressional elections of 1818 he was elected to the second seat of the Rhode Island State in the US House of Representatives in Washington. There he replaced James Brown Mason from the Federalist Party on March 4, 1819 . He could not finish the legislative period, which ended on March 3, 1821, because he died on December 17, 1820.
