Christopher Grant Champlin (born April 12, 1768 in Newport , Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations , †  March 18, 1840 ibid) was an American politician ( Federalist Party ) who represented the state of Rhode Island in both chambers of the US Congress represented.

After graduating from Preparatory School , Christopher Champlin attended Harvard College , where he graduated in 1786. He then continued his education at the Jesuit college in Saint-Omer , France .

Champlin began a political career on his return to the United States. As a federalist, he was elected to the US House of Representatives in 1796 , to which he was a member after being re-elected from March 4, 1797 to March 3, 1801. After initially working as a merchant, he moved back to Congress on June 26, 1809 after the death of US Senator Francis Malbone . He stayed there until his resignation on October 2, 1811.

After leaving politics, Christopher Champlin was briefly President of the Rhode Island Bank .
