EEL ULF-1 is a single-seat fußstartfähiges U ltra- L eicht- F lugzeug. Construction documents for amateur construction are sold by the development and testing of light aircraft (EEL).
history
The aircraft construction engineers and members of Akaflieg Berlin, Heiner Neumann and Dieter Reich, founded EEL in 1976 and developed the startable, three-axis-steered glider for slope gliding and weak thermals. The first flight took place on October 7, 1977 by Heiner Neumann in Manching in a car tow on an 80 m synthetic rope. The aircraft was shown to the public at the 3rd International Hang Glider Meeting on the Wasserkuppe. The aircraft received traffic approval from the Federal Aviation Office in July 1980 and can be flown with an aviation license for air sports equipment.
construction
The self-supporting shoulder wing with normal tail unit is a timber construction in half-timbered construction. The single-spar wing in rib construction, plywood-clad nose and fabric covering has spoilers on the top. The truss fuselage, triangular in cross section, with sprung runner, central wheel and GRP spur is fabric-covered like the self-supporting tail unit. The cockpit has lockable floor flaps for foot launch. There is a Tost Piccolo tow coupling in the bow. You can start by running start, car tow, on a start winch for hang-gliders , aircraft tow or on a rubber rope.
