European Electronic Toll Service

The European Electronic Toll Service ( EETS ) (dt .: European Electronic Toll Service ) is a from the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union adopted Directive , the principles for an international treaty to create a European electronic toll service will be described. The aim is to create a system that allows users (EETS users) to obtain a toll device ( OBU ) from an approved service provider (EETS provider) , which is compatible with all connected European toll collection systems (EETS domain).

EETS in Germany

Since October 6, 2009, the Federal Office for Goods Transport in Cologne has been in charge and administrator of the German register of EETS providers .

EETS in Austria

The ASFINAG as a toll operator of the Austrian motorway and expressway network is since January 11, 2012 input into future EETS provider.
