History of origin
EN 469 is a harmonized standard based on EU Directive 89/686 / EEC of December 21, 1989, which as the "Directive on the harmonization of legal regulations for personal protective equipment of the member states of the EU" is a uniform European standard in the field of personal protective equipment in Europe guaranteed.
EN 469 is a harmonized standard throughout the European Union and also in Switzerland; It is implemented in the individual countries as a national standard (e.g. DIN EN 469, BS EN 469, NF EN 469, ÖN EN 469, SN EN 469) with the same content. In some states, additional national regulations apply, such as in Germany in some federal states the further HuPF or in Austria those of the ÖBFV .
"DIN EN 469" is not to be equated with the " German standard DIN 469 ", which regulates the technical delivery conditions for straight hand cranks .
A successor standard published in the meantime (EN 469: 2014) was withdrawn after a short time.
The last draft of a revised EN 469 (prEN 469: 2015) did not achieve the required majority in the vote in late 2015 and will not be pursued any further.
conditions
The standard deals with the requirements
- Heat transfer "flame" (Xf),
- Heat transfer "radiation" (Xr),
- Water resistance (Y),
- Water vapor resistance (Z),
which are divided into two performance levels, where level 1 is the lower, level 2 is the higher level.
Furthermore, EN 469 also deals with the perceptibility of fire brigade members who are endangered by road traffic on site .
