The ESA - the purchasing organization of the Swiss auto and motor vehicle industry, with its headquarters in Burgdorf, is a wholesale company organized as a cooperative . It is owned by over 7,000 affiliated member companies (garage and body shops) and supplies them with consumables and capital goods . These range from small items such as screws and locks to tires , rims or service and wear parts to washing systems and complete garage and bodywork equipment . The ESA also offers its members services in the areas of planning, project planning and financing of projects as well as training.

The company, which was founded in 1930, employs around 530 people at its eight locations and generated sales of 341.7 million Swiss francs in 2016.
