The E Nebula , also Barnard's E Nebula (cataloged as Barnard 142 and 143), is a pair of dark clouds in the Eagle constellation . It is a sharply outlined, dark area that contrasts with the Milky Way . The apparent size is about 30 minutes of arc, which corresponds to the diameter of a full moon. The distance is 2000 light years .
