Earl of Halsbury
Earl of Halsbury was a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .
Bestowal, subordinate titles, and expiry
The title was created on January 17, 1898 for Lord Chancellor Hardinge Giffard, 1st Baron Halsbury . Together with the Earl title he was the subordinate title Viscount Tiverton , of Tiverton in the County of Devon , bestowed. As early as June 26, 1885 he had been raised to Baron Halsbury , of Halsbury in the County of Devon.
All three titles expired on December 31, 2010 with the death of his great-grandson, the 4th Earl.
