Eawag Empa Library

The Eawag-Empa Library from 2006 to 2010, the joint library of Eawag and the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Testing and Research (Empa). As an academic specialized library within the ETH Domain it was mainly in the fields of research water conservation , human ecology , hydrology , environmental sciences (Eawag) and materials and material science specialized (Empa). On January 1, 2011, it was integrated into Lib4RI , the new joint library of Eawag, Empa, the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) and the Federal Research Institute for Forests, Snow and Landscape (WSL).

Eawag-Empa library was as open access library at the Network of Libraries and Information Centers in Switzerland connected (NEBIS).

Locations

In addition to the main office in Dübendorf, the Eawag Empa library operated other locations. The branch in Kastanienbaum was connected to the Eawag Research Center for Limnology , the second to the Empa St. Gallen research site. The Eawag and Empa libraries were merged on January 1, 2006 to form a joint Eawag-Empa library in Dübendorf in the Forum Chriesbach.

Duration

In 2007 the library holdings comprised around 50,000 monographs, 550 current journals and 280 series. The stock of e-resources tended to increase. In 2010 there was access to around 10,000 electronic journals and several thousand e-books .
