tasks

As a special scientific library , Lib4RI supplies the members of the four research institutes in the ETH domain with literature and specialist information in electronic and printed form for research, teaching and advice. The open access inventory is located at the three main locations, on the Eawag and Empa premises in Dübendorf, in Villigen at PSI and in Birmensdorf at WSL. The eight other locations of the four research institutes are supplied with literature by post and electronically. Lib4RI is responsible for the institutional bibliographies of Eawag, Empa and WSL. Lib4RI has been operating the institutional repository DORA since 2016 . Another task is knowledge transfer and advice on searching for information and all about the topic of scientific publishing.

Duration

Lib4RI's holdings include around 261,800 analog and around 235,000 digital resources (as of December 31, 2016). Due to the distribution of Lib4RI over several locations and the focus on MINT subjects , digitization is very advanced. The inventory of printed works has remained more or less constant since it was founded, while the inventory of e-books and e-journals has grown strongly.
