Eberhard Bauer (entrepreneur)

Eberhard Bauer (born December 20, 1914 ; † 1984 ) was a German entrepreneur. He was the owner of the Elektro-Motoren-Fabrik Eberhard Bauer GmbH in Esslingen am Neckar (since 2011 Bauer Gear Motor ).

Career

In 1936, Bauer took over his father's business, which he developed from a very small start into a leading manufacturer of special motors (especially gear and drum motors).

Honors

In 1968, Bauer was awarded the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Federal Republic of Germany. He was also an honorary senator of the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences . Furthermore, a sports stadium and a sports hall are named after him in Bauer's hometown Esslingen. The street on which the Bauer company is located is now called Eberhard-Bauer-Straße.
